Creating a CV

We have gathered a collection of CV's and cover letters to help you create your own. All of these examples were successful in landing the candidate a job.

Your CV is your personal advertisement. Talk yourself up and sell your skills to the school you are applying for. Create an image in the principal's mind of why their school will be better with you as a teacher.

Ensure your CV is not too long by limiting yourself to 2 pages. Be succinct and focus on your strengths. Advice of what to include in your CV can differ greatly. Remember, it is a personal document, and the purpose is to tell your professional story.

Your cover letter should always be specific to the school. Research the school website, newsletters, and Facebook to learn about the current learning focus and identify how your skills would contribute.

To create an attractive CV, you can use online websites like Canva which has free templates. Word and Photoshop also have built in templates that you can search when you create a new file.
